MediaTek Pentonic 1000

The MediaTek Pentonic 1000 is a flagship Smart TV SoC with integrated MEMC, designed for 4K 120Hz HDR displays and up to 4K 144Hz VRR for gaming. High performance compute includes multicore CPU, dual-core GPU, a dedicated AI processing unit (APU), and video decoding engines. Hardware-based video decoding ensures broadcast and streaming playback is reliable and power-efficient, whether the content is encoded with popular HEVC, AV1, AVS3, and even the latest VVC (H.266).

TV manufacturers can create competitive products for global application thanks to its global demod and leading features, including the latest Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos standards, integrated voice assistant support, and VRR support for gaming.

MediaTek Intelligent View can put the large 4K resolution to great use by dividing it into up to 8 views at once. Where competitor alternatives can only provide up to 2 views, MediaTek Intelligent View can showcase a ‘display wall’ of content in a single view. At home, this novel technology allows users to stream multiple angles of a sporting event at the same time, or watch a TV show and video call with friends and family simultaneously to share the experience. In the office, it can enhance meeting rooms and conferences with effective space for virtual attendees, or, placed in a company foyer it can showcase company stock prices, live news feeds, plus the latest products and corporate information; all easy to manage.

Typical digital TV SoC’s only offer picture quality adjustment for the primary content view, however the powerful MediaTek Pentonic 1000 and MediaTek Intelligent View enables dynamic picture quality adjustment in every view shown.

Other user experience improvements include audio/video that remains live and unmuted when switching between primary and sub-views, and ensuring the video continues to play seamlessly even if the sub-views are moved around the main display, rather than falling out of sync or going black.

MediaTek AI processing engine (APU) is fully integrated into the chip, ensuring the synergy between processing engines is faster and more power-efficient than alternative, multi-chip solutions. The MediaTek APU provides advanced AI-enhanced features such as:
